Bandon, Oregon

Oregon is one of those places I've learned to love.
Growing up I wished that I lived in a big city like NYC, LA, or hey, London! As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more appreciative of where I live. Oregon is beautiful! Honestly, it never stops being green even in the dead of winter. Hills, wildlife, and tons and tons of trees. Ever since I’ve moved here I have found one particular place to be my favorite: Bandon. Here in Oregon, we don’t have a “beach” but rather a brisk and sometimes windy “coast.” Rocks tower out of the crashing waves and large pieces of drift wood scatter the sand. So, may I introduce you to Bandon, truly one of my favorite places indeed.

Touchdowns & Pazookies

What went down over the weekend? Some good old fashioned American football, that's what.
As I have mentioned before, I do live in tree, mountain, and wildlife filled Oregon. We also happen to be home to the college football team, the Oregon Ducks and let me say, most Oregonians (unless you like those Beavers) are hardcore Duck fans. Like, ’till death do us part, hardcore. I am not one of those people but I am a fan of both the football team and especially the track team! Every spring, the Ducks have a charity football game where they basically just play each other for fun and the entry fee is canned or packaged foods. I’d say that’s an awesome deal! So we went.

After, we had to stop at this place called “BJ’s” which has amazing food and are also proud owners of the “pazookie.” If you haven’t heard or tasted one, be prepared to have your mind blown. A pazookie is pretty much a pizza cookie. It’s cookie dough baked in the oven until it’s golden brown but still fairly soft and dough-ey. Then they smack a big mound of ice cream on top. You not only get the mixture of hot and cold, but the flavors are endless (I got the new salted caramel flavor)! You can use any flavor of cookie dough as well as ice cream. Don’t knock it ’till you try it.

Spring Fling | Nail Polish Essentials

It’s spring. Although here in Oregon, I was questioning whether it would ever truly heat up. Just this past weekend we had a hail, rain, and wind storm. Yippee. Thankfully, these past two days have been heating up with plenty of sunshine! What I like to do on weekends is completely relax with a nice bubble bath, Netflix or a good book, candles, and some calming music. Ah, bliss. On occasion I also like to cheer up my hands with a fresh coat of polish. Which brings me to today’s post. As soon as spring comes around I whip out all of my girly pinks, lilacs, mint greens and so on. Here is a selection of my current preferences:

  • Essie ‘Lilacism’
  • Revlon Colorstay ‘Rich Raspberry’
  • Color Club ‘Pardon My French’
  • Zoya ‘Odette’
  • Butter London ‘Trout Pout’
  • Essie ‘Show Me the Ring’
  • Essie ‘Mint Candy Apple’

  • Overall I’m liking any form of pastel, whether it’s a bright pastel, muted pastel, or even a neon pastel. I’ve also been loving different shades of berry. I normally reach for the dark berry/wine shades during winter and fall but for spring and summer I’m liking these bright berry hues. Lastly, I had to pick out a coral, it’s one of those instant pick-me-up shades!
I figured instead of doing a monthly favorites (which I do intend to do in the future) I wanted to try out a series on all things spring related: Spring Fling. I have a few posts in mind for this so we’ll see where this goes. Stay tuned for next week!
